3 Good reasons not to recycle cell phones…

recycle cell phones

If you’re like many people, you probably got a brand new cell phone this year. Maybe it was a Christmas present from someone who wanted you to finally give up that old flip phone you’ve been hanging onto forever, or maybe you just decided to treat yourself to a new phone because you deserve it. Either way, you love your new phone, but that doesn’t mean you should give up and recycle your cell phones, does it? Of course not. In fact, here are three good reasons not to recycle cell phones just so you can convince your friends and family members that you should hang onto that old flip phone…just in case.

1. You look cool with a flip phone

Let’s face it – flip phones are really cool. In fact, they’re way more cool than these brand new, fancy smartphones. Your smartphone is good to use once in a while, but if you want to impress people, you always make sure you whip out that flip phone. It works great when you’re meeting new people for the first time too.

2. You like collecting old junk

You’re probably a big fan of American Pickers, if you like collecting old junk. For good reason! You never know when those guys are going to come to your town, right? In fact, what if they come to your town and you’re able to introduce them to a big pile of old cell phones. You can just see them salivating over those phones now. You’ve always wanted to be on television, and those ancient, junky cell phones give you a great opportunity to be a star someday.

3. Your new phone stops working

You’ve spared no expense to ensure that your new phone doesn’t stop working. You’ve purchased the Otter Box, which is supposed to be the best cell phone case out there, and you’ve gotten every kind of insurance policy you can think of. However, what if your smartphone suddenly does stop working? What will you do? If you keep your old phone, you’ll be able to quickly switch your service over, right?

These ideas are, of course ridiculous.

In today’s world, we all know that the responsible thing to do with an old cell phone is to recycle it properly through SecondWave Recycling. You’ll be helping out various charities, and you’ll also be doing your own small part to make our world a more environmentally-friendly place to live.

Even though it might be hard to part with your old cell phone, and even though you might sympathize with one (or more) of the reasons we listed above, your new cell phone is awesome. Trust us. Let us recycle that old flip phone. You’ll be glad you did.
