Step #1

Collect smartphones, cell phones and tablets - broken devices too!

Items accepted include working, broken and non-functional devices:

Items not accepted and can be recycled locally:

  • Instructional manuals
  • Car chargers
  • Protective cases

Step #2

packaging and shipping

Pack

Pack them in all in a small box or envelope - please no accessories!

  • Deactivate phones prior to packing
  • Ensure batteries are installed in the phones (no loose batteries)
  • Pack devices in a small sturdy box or padded envelope
  • Securely tape package to ensure contents safety

Step #3

Ship

Print off shipping label and drop off at your nearest USPS.

  • For 1-4 phones, print off a self paid shipping label from our website and affix postage to package
  • For 5 or more devices, print off your pre-paid USPS shipping label 
  • Tape shipping label to small box or padded envelope
  • Drop off package at your nearest USPS location or schedule a pickup

  • Our Team processes the devices to determine if they are to be either recycled or resold
  • Proceeds are donated to our charity partners

We DO NOT accept desktop computers, landline phones, monitors and other electronic devices not listed above.

In order to keep shipping costs to a minimum, we ask that accessories, such as chargers, instructional booklets and other items be recycled at your local Goodwill or electronics stores.

Every device is that is donated to SecondWave Recycling is either resold to a certified electronic refurbisher or recycler.   

Upon receipt of your device, our team wipes all of your personal data and performs a test on your device to determine if it’s deemed resellable.  If the device it too old, it will be responsibly recycled for parts. Either way, your phone will go to support a charity.

If you’re shipping more than 100 phones, please contact us and a representative will be in contact with you.

That’s ok!  Please contact us and we’ll send you a label via USPS regular mail.

Most devices can be easily reset by going to the Settings menu.  For specifics on your particular device, you can either search online for your specific device or go here to for step by step instructions to factory reset iPhone, Samsung and more.

Please remember to Remove iCloud Lock or Android locks and passcodes!

We love helping out different charities, but this doesn’t qualify us as a non-profit.  We cannot provide a charitable tax receipt, but upon request, we are more than happy to provide you with a donation acknowledgement receipt.
